SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY
CONGREGATIONAL SUNDAY SCHOOL. .
The celebrations in connection with tho. anniversary of. the Terrace Congregational Churoh Sunday. Sohool were concluded last evening, when a tea and publio meeting was held. The Rev. J Reed Glasson, president of the Sunday School, presided. Occasion was taken to welcome Mr. J. Meadocroft, superintendent of tho Sunday Sohool, who has just returned from a trip to England. Included amongst the 'speakers last evening were the Rev. A. M'Donald Aspland,. of Palmorston North, the Rev. Yv. A Evans, Mr. West Knowles, ajtl Mr. j' Gibson, of Alicetown. A feature of the evening's entertainment was the singing by the scholars, assisted by the choir and an orchestra, under the oonductorship of Mr: W. J. .Lankshear. Mr. Moadooroft delivered an interesting address on his travels, which nas much appreciated by those present. Mr. Glasson announced, amidst applause,, that tjie children had decided not to accept prizes'this year, and had donated, the prize-money to the Belgium Relief Fund. It was stated that Mr. Lonkshcar hail donated certificates to successful ■ competitors. In conclusion, Mr. Glasson referred for the good work done by Mr. Lankshear, who had acted as superintendent of the Sunday School during Mr. Meadowcroft's absence. Tho speaker also thanked all thoso who had assisted to make the anniversary services «ueh a success, esccialply those ladies who had provided tlig tea.
