PRIME MINISTER AT BLUFF
THE EXPORT OF FISH. (By Telegraph.—Press Aesoclation.) Inveroarglll, November 23. The Right Hon. W. F. Massey addressed « meeting at Bluff at,iiooh today, about 250 people being : present. The meeting was most good-numoured, and the interjections made were' all in the form of questions. /The, Prime Minister answered these at length, and to the satisfaction of the. questioners. Mr. Massey was applauded on. rising, and dealt with the oondition of the Dominion when he.took office on lines of his former speeches, and also touched oh fidance, taxation, pensions,• etc. Answering questions with regard to the 'port of Bluff and tho Union Company, the Prime Minister, said that if the company could show; him that there was not sufficient business to . make their Bluff , coastal business pay,- and that 4 subsidy was necessary, ne would see to it that the Government made the necessary, arrangements. (Loud applause.) " " • The speaker, also referred "tb the visit of Professor Prince. There was plenty of fish for the Now Zealand market; ahd so they had commenced reciprocal negotiations with the Australian Government for the removal Of the duty on fish exported from New Zealand. They hoped the Australian Government would agree to it. ' '' ; With regard to the wheat question, Mr. Massey said that arrangements had been (made' for the vessels convoying wheat from Canada tb call at Bluff, which would be the first port of call. (Applause.) A vote of thanks for an interesting address .was carried unanimously with applause. The Prime* Minister was afterwards entertained at luncheon.
