LATE LORD ROBERTS'S WARNING TO THE NATION; London, November 22. Lord' Roberts's last message to the nation was a contribution to a forthcoming volume on behalf of the refugees. He wrote: "The Bolgians arrested the first onslaught of the Germans, and thus gave U3 time to ward off the punishment wo so richly deserve for tho neglect to prepare to defend our own interests." Punch recently published' tho following verses relating to Lord Roberts's warning:— He knew, none better, how'twould be Ho spoke his warning fax and-wide; He worked to save us oeaselessly And 6et his well-earnt rest aside. We smiled and shrugged! and went our way, Blind to the swift-approaching blow j His every word proves true to-aay, But no man hears "I told Jou so."
