CAUGHT NAPPING
GERMAN OVER-CONEIDENCE (Reo. November 24, 0.25 a.m.) London, November 23. The Germans, on. November 19, bombarded the Gurkhas' outpost trenches at Hollebeko 'for five hours. A thousand of the enemy's infantry then advanced leisurely, believing that the Gurkhas were dead. Tbey crossed the canal in pontoons, and brought thirty ammunition wagons across. ' The British batteries destroyed the pontoons, wiped out five hundred of the Germans, and-the remainder then surrendered.
