FOUR GERMAN MACHINES SHOT DOWN (Rec. November 22, 8.3 p.m.) London, November 20. 'An' exciting air battle was witnessed on Wednesday. Two French and two British aeroplanes manoeuvred for ten minutes against four Gorman aeroplanes, and suddenly fled, the Germans pursuing. The latter realised when too late that they were entrapped. They were shot down by hidden French batteries. Eight officers and pilots were killed\ NEW GERMAN AEROPLANE FLEET. London, November 20. A Berlin telegram states that tho aeroplane factories aro working at high pressure. Ten thousand men have volunteered to learn flying. ATTXCK ON ZEPPELIN FACTORY. | .cßec. November 23, 0.5 a.m.) Amsterdam, November 21. aeroplanes appeared at Friederickshafen, on Lake Constance, at midday, four hundred yards above tho sheds in which new Zeppelines are under construction. Shrapnel brought down one aeroplane, and the other fell into Lake Constance. Bombs from, the aeroplanes damaged two houses and killed a man and wounded a woman. Tho captured aviator was seriously, wounded. ' Amsterdam, November 22. The aeroplanes that bombarded the Zeppelin sheds were French.
