Within three hours' death removed two . respected aged citizens -of Danneyirke—Mr.. and ■ Mrs. ■ William Haines, of M'Callum Street (6ays ~:ilhursday's ' "News").- The .sad occurrence came as a great shock to the family and friends of the deceaeed .couple. Mrs. Haines, who was 78 years of, age, had been suttering more or less • arid her end was not • unexpected. Not so Mr. Hainea, who,.thougn in a etate of decline, was quite well until 12 hours prior to his death; when' he became unconscious and died peacefully at seven in the morning, quite unaware ithat his .wife had predeceased him' three houre previously. Mr; Haines was his wife's senior by three years. The:family is well known in Danrievirke arid greatly respected. Six sons and four daughters are left to numm.: their loss. Deceased came to New Zealand '• about 40 years :ago, and 27 years ago went te Danneyirke, where they have since 'resided.
