Present indicatione aie.for north-west to south-west winds, increasing stronpr to gale in many parts. Weather cloudy and misty generally, with rain probably following eouthwards of Kawhia s and Castlepoint, especially in tho west- ' era and southernmost districts. The barometer is unsteady, with a falling ' tendenoy at present. The barometer is above normal in the north, but has fallen in- the southern districts since last night. Variable breezes have prevailed in the northern districts, but in end southward of Oook Strait freshening northerly and westerly winds have ruled. The. weather has been changeable with cloudy- sides much in evidence, D. 0. BATES. Meteorological Office, Wellington, November 20, 1914. .
