MONTHLY MEETING OF THE ' ; ■ BOARD. Tho monthly meeting of the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held yesterday. . There were present: The Rev. W. A. Evans (chairman), Messrs. H. Baldwin, F. Castle, H. Freeman, J. W. M'Ewan, D. Campbell, • D. M'Laren, F. T. Moore, G Nash, G. J. I'etherick, D. Robertson, J. Smith, Dr. M'Kenzie, and the Rev. H. Van Staveren. ' The Hospital . Committee reported that Senior Nurses Gorman and Bursill had been promoted 10 ward sister and dental • sister respectively, 011 the usualterm of three months' probation. The offer of the Paparoa Coal Mining Company to extend" the period for contract for the supply of boiler coal, to March, 1916, at the present price (19s. 9d. per ton, delivered) was accepted. Accounts for tho month were-passed for payment as under:—Wellington Hospital, £3308 9s. lOd.; Charitable Aid and Ohiro Home, £391 19s. 7d.; Otaki Hospital and Sanatorium, £684 9s 7d.; Head Office, Public Health, etc., £210 18s. 4d. Total, £4595 17s. 4d. The tender of Messrs. M'Lean and Gray was accepted for th© entrance and lavatory accommodations to tho bacteriological - block. The tender, which was t'he lowest-received; was £345. ' It was decided that the circular from the Minister 'in charge' New Zealand Government National Provident Fund in regard to a system of superannuation for 'employees should be referred to the board's employees for their consideration.
