THE SAILOES , FRIEND SOCIETY. The Sailors' Friend Society Institute was crowded with an appreciative audience' last evening, when Miss Small provided a most enjoyable entertainment. Mr. J. Moore,' Missionor, occupied the chair. The following contributed vocal and elocutionary items' to the programme:—Misses Andrewe, Cliehy, Banuon, and Small, and Messrs. Newton, M'Kenzie,' Thompson, Leverott, C. King, Triptree (R.M.S. TuraIcina), and Baldock and Edwards (R.M.S. llotonia), Pliilpott, and M'Carty. Mr. Spencer (R.M.S. Turakina) won the singing competition and tho prize for the best conundrum went to the ships in port. Several very popular choruses were sung-by the audience in great style. The debate on Tuesday 'evening was attended by a lnrgo number of seamen who discussed, among other things, "Should the King gi to the Front?" After a long debate it was decided that his influence was greater where he is, and that ho could ill bo spared from London.
