POLICE CASES . THEFT OF A SILVER WATCH Mr. W. G. Riddell, 5.M.,. presided over a sitting of. the Magistrate's Court yesterday. An old offender, Wjlliam Thomas, was sentenced to. three months' gapl for committing ,the theft of a silver watch valued at £3,' from Alfred Henry Dunn! Chief Detective Broborg ex-' plained that the yvatch had been stolen from informant's room in a boardinghouse in Ghuznee Street. A young ma», Alexander Francis M ! Lean, was finsd £3 or 21 days for attempting ; to steal a bicycle, valued at £5, from Robert Barnes. \ : : .',The seaman, Jack Dillimore, charged with' wounding; Martin Beharrie on board the Ulimaroa some months ago, was; further remanded for a week, as Beharrie is .still in the Hospital. ■For drunkenness John Shannon was fined 205., or three days' gaol. Four first offenders were dealt with.
