PREVENTION OF CRUELTY
The fortnightly meeting of the Committee of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held last night. Mr. V. R. Meredith presided. In his usyal report,tho society's inspector (Captain Henry) detailed various cases of cruelty to animals which he had discovered and inquired into. He mentioned that a case would come on in the Magistrate's Court on Saturday in whicji b, man would be charged with cruelty to sheep. .-•'_' ; ' For tho past fortnight subscriptions were received and acknowledged as follow: —"Friend," and W.
