A MYSTERIOUS VISIT Ottawa, November 16. Sir Cecil : A. Spring-Rice (British Ambassador to America) is in Ottawa, conferring with Sir Robert Borden, the Canadian Prima Minister. The object of his visit is not known. GERMAN DUPLICITY. ("Times" and Sydney "Sun" London, November 16. The Canadian Government has been informed that an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease amongst cattle in tho United States is tho work of x German sympathisers, in order to block the food supply of Britain. — The Canadian Government is exercising the utmost vigilance to prevent the possibility of on outbreak in the Dominion. CANADA'S GREAT EXPEDITION. (Rec. November 17, 7.15 p.m.) Sydney, November 17. The Sonema's passengers give interesting details of the departure of the Canadian troops from Quebec. Thirtyone transports wero required to carry the men, guns, horses,' and supplies. Tho convoy consisted of eleven warships. The embarkation of 31,300 troops and 8000 horses" was performed faultlessly.
