A PROGRESSIVE SOCIETY. A meeting of'the executive of the Wellington South Progressive Society was held in Mr. Bedell's rooms, Riddiford Street,'last evening, Mr. A; 'A. George presiding. The executive expressed its strong disapproval of "the City Council's sys- , tem of charging by moter for the water used for beautifying purposes, and the secretary was direoted to write to the council in' regard to tho! matter. It was decided to approach the City Council with a view to securing baths for Wellington South, in order that the children of the district might learn to «wim. It was,further.decided to urge that the proposed improvements to the, Kilbirnie Bathing Sheds be hurried on; The work done by Mr. W. Prince at Island Bay in connection with, the suppression of.the mosquito nuisance? was favourably , commented on. ' It ' was resolved to write to the Island Bay. Municipal Association and to theiCityCouncil suggesting that help be given to Mr. Prince to. complete the work by' which he had-done so much good' dur-. ing the last few years. ' '" !
