The Canterbury" Joeke.y Club's Metropolitan Meeting concluded to-day ait Eiccarton, in beautiful weather, though the east wind was a trifle keen. There was a good attendance for the last dav of the meeting. His Excellency tho Governor and suite arrived before tho first race. The track was iu first-class order, and with good fields engaged the racing was full of interest. The totalisator handled .£'47,906, as compared with 10s. forthe con-esponding day la6t year. The total for the meeting .was ,£162,825 10s., as against =£158,431 laat year. This year's figures are a record for the club. The Pole and Kingsway raced up to (the ■ leaders iu front of the stand, but the former stood off too far, and falling brought down Beacon and Otatara. - Kingsway was then left in charge from Gold Lock and Corrie, with Daylight Bill and Idealism next/ and Kilmeny a good way back. This order was unchanged alt the Kennels, but going round'the turn Daylight Bill and Corrie ivent in pursuit of tho leaders, and when well into the straight Corria displaced Gold Lock in, second.place. Kingsway, Daylight Bill, and Corrie jumped the last obstacle abreast, the last-named going on to win easily by eight lengths.
