We all knew that Miss Nellie Hozier, the younger sister of Mrs. Winston Churchill, was a very clever girl, but no one quite thought she was capable of being an interpreter in five languages (writes a London correspondent). She is out at the front at present acting as interpreter in French, German, ana Russian.. Like a sensible woman, she is accepting a big salary for her services. That wily business woman, LadyRandolph Churchill, wlw is very fond of her, said she -was foolish not to turn her gift of languages to account, there being a splendid opportunity at the moment. Mr. and Mm. Eric Riddifordl have returned from Christchurch. Mrs. Halc-Munro is expected to return from tho south on Wednesday. Tho patriotic rose show which is being held in tho Town Hall by the 'Wellington Rose and Carnation Club on Tuesday afternoon next promises to be a suocess, judging by the entries obtained. Tho proceeds from the sale of tiokets are to be handed over to the Belgian and Local Relief Funds. The opening ceremony by His Excellency the Governor (Lord Liyerpool) and the Countess of Liverpool is to take place at 3 o'clock. During tho afternoon tea will bo served in tho Concert Chamber. There will also bo a home-made sweets stall and a flower stall.
