THEFT OP A BICYCLE
Mr. D. G. A Cooper, S.M., pr&idfed over a sitting of the Magistrate's Court yesterday. A youth named Waltor Henry George Bedford pleaded guilty to stealing _ a bicycle, valued at £4, from John Skitrup, at Lower Hutt. Inspector Hendrey asked that he be remanded till tomorrow for sentence, as the father was coming down from Greytown. ] • Emma AATiiite was, on tho application of Inspector Hendrey, remanded for a week for curative treatment on changes of drunkenness and stealing the sum of £7 os. 4<L from Ah Chong. .
Mary AA r akeham (prohibited),, who wa,s described by Inspector Hendrey as being an incorrigible, was sent to Paka-. toa Island for two years on a charge of drunkenness. John M'Vioars was fined 10s. or forty-eight hours' imprisonment for drunkenness Alexandor John M'Leod was convicted and discharged for drunkenness and fined .£2 cr fourteen days' imprisonment for indiecency. A prohibition order to bo effective for twelve months was issued against James. AValmsley; charged with excessive drinking. i MISCELLANEOUS' CASES. AV. V. Whitta was ordered to pay costs( 75.) on a charge of allowing, a water-tap in Abel Smith' Street to be out of repair, so that- the water was wasted. \ Ada AVilliams was ordered to pay Court costs {75.) for Sunday trading.
