(in < the oil air), A'llport, Bishop, Combs, Ellison, Flanagan, Huggins, and Macdonald, It was resolved to forfeit.the retiring allowance of'' a contributor retired as medically unfit, who had recovered his health and had foiled to accept suitable re-employment. Retiring ■ allowances were granted to 14 contributors retired by reason of age or length'. of scrvice, representing an annual expenditure of £] 608 3s. Two contributors were granted allowances on retirement as medically unlit, totalling £65 15s. per annum. Eight' widows and sixteen children were granted tho statutory allowances aggregating £352 per annum. The amount of .compensation accrued to officers retired amounts to £3103 10s. Id. One application for a_ retiring allowance on account of medical unfitness was refused, the contributor having declined to accept employment which the board considers suitable for him. ...
