SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
The audience at the Sailors' Friend Society last night entered with zest into the programme provided by Misa C. Veale. The recitals, the songs, and the instrumental• items were of 'a breezy naturo, and met with frequent encores. Mr. Moore, missionor, was in the chair. The competitions brought out. much latent talent. . Tho. prizes, •presented, by Mrs. Vcalo, went to Mr. Butohor (R.M.S. Rotorua) and Riley (R.M.S. R-otorua). The following contributed, items to the programme:— Misses C. Veale, Curry, Liez, Messrs. Miller, Weston, Baker, Gladliill, Benson, Edwards • (R.M.S. Rotorua), and Master Tonks. Mr. Miller played the accompaniments. The performers wero accorded a hearty vote of thanks at tho conclusion of the concort.. Owing to tho great demand for periodicals, magazinos, etc., by.tho.sajlors leaving :for sea, tho missioner would bo glad of • any gifts sent to the Institute.
