BOYS INSTITUTE

The foundation-stone of the Wellington Boys' Institute' and the "S. A. Rhodes' Home for Boys will be. laid by His Excellency the Governor on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. A raised platform and dais will be erected providing seating accommodation for 300 persons; while a- band will'be in attendance to accompany the singing. Afternoon tea will be dispensed by the ladies' ■auxiliary. In addition to His Excellency's address, short • speeches will be given by the Prime Minister, tho Chief Justice, the Mayor, the Hon. A. L. Herdman, and the direotor of the Institute (Mr. W. J. Beunett). The founda-tion-stone is the gift of Mr. Henry Glover, monumental mason, a former helper in the i work. The contractor, Mr. A. E. Hurrell, is making satisfactory progress . with tho building, t-lie foundations for the largo' swimming •bath being now completed, and much of'the heavy steel'work is' under erection. .
