"HUMPTY DTJMPTY" PANTOMIME. Judging by the booking ,and the general interest shown in the approaching' visit of Messrs. Stephenson's. andLinle.y's Pantomime, Company there seems every' indication that a big 'house , will greet them on their firet appearance at tho Grand Opera. House to-morrow night. This ie an opportunity to see a pantomime production at really popular prices. • The company has been specially selected for' this tour, and includes a comedian in the person of Mr. Con Moreni, who has made a great American e and English reputation in dame part's. Beautiful dressing and scenery, original dancers, and ballots,- a gorgeous march-by a host of pretty yoiin;* ladies, a brilliant speciality, irresistible mueic, and really funny comedians are claimed to be among the many features of "Humptv Dumpty." The pantomime oan only be played a few nights, as the season is limited. The hilariouß musical extravaganza "The Jam of Cathay" will be the second attraction; A matinee will be held on Saturday, November 21,, specially reduced prices being made for children. The box plan is at the Dresden. ■| HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. Two black-faced comedians, -y Gruett and Qruett, are making the audiences at His Majesty's Theatre this week laugh loud and long with their droller-, ies. They are excellent artists in their line of business. There are also on the current bill tame of considerable merit, notably the Three Homaz (equilibrists), Benson arid Bell (styled "The Dancer and the Dude")) Monahan and Sheehan, and others. ■ - KING'S THEATRE. : , Excellent attendances are ruling nightly at the .King's Theatre,, attracted, no doubt, by the exceptional pro-: gramme now show ing •., It is. headed, by a delightful comedy, "Beauty and the Barge," by )V. W. Jacobs, and featuring Mr. Cyril Maude; one of England's finest actors. There is a good supporting bill of diversified pictures,' including ' "Across . the' Burning Tiestle," a powerful ■ Edison drama: "The Boy Scout Farm in Sussex," of. much interest and splendid colouring; "Setting the Style," a Vitagraph comedy, Bunny; "Wireless from the War,", a series of clever, catchy sketches; and the. latest news from Europe by' War Graphic." EVERYBODY'S. Very fine indeed is the feature drama on this week'e programme at ' Everybody's Pictures, Manners Street. It is entitued "War's Heart. Blood," and l besides introducing some stirring', battle scenes', unfolds'a highly emotional story. Topical films of particular interest on the bill are "Germans-at Louvain," and "The Melbourne.Cupl" The supporting subjects are excellent. '■ : : ','■'■!'■ MAOMAHON'S PICTURES. The new programme of films to be. shown for the first time, to-day at-Mac- 1 mahon's New Theatre, Manners Street, promises to be one of the most attrac-' tive since the theatre opened. Foremost on'the bill is'a great emotional drama, entitled "Thorns," by the Cines Company. The film, which is 3000 ft. in length, is said to be a remarkable example of fine photography. . Then there, is a 1000 ft. comic by the Keystone Company; entitled "His Wedding: Day." This picture had a phenomenally successful run in Auckland recently. Other pictures are "The Brothers" /(Nestor drama). "Pay'the Rent" (Joker Co. comedy),. A remarkable picture ,of life in the, British ..Navy, entitled:': 'Sons 'of -the Sea," is featuring baythV current .-programme of the People's Picture Palace, Manners Street. All phases <>f the. work of the Jack Tar on a modgrn warship are depicted, and the picture is , full of incident and interest. Apart from: tills film, there aro 'several ohers —dramatic, scenic, and are good and entertaining, and include two more ins'tlaments of "Lucille Love" and "The Bronze Idol" (a powerful drama), ; THE EMPEESS THEATRE. ' '•In- the 'Whirlpool of '{War"", "is the main attraction of the new programme shown at the Empress Theatre yesterday. Among many incidents are the Royal Field Artillery leaving: Hyde Park for the front, London Scottish passing Hyde Park, examining passports -in. Belgium, sending news from near the firing line with homing pigeons, Belgians removing a formidable obstacle on a highway to,permit.the Allies' cavalry to'pass, German prisoners passjng through hostile crowds in Paris, Belgian cavalry , scouting at Waterloo, Louvain "main streets, six hundred Belgian Lancers proceeding to charge, defending Louvain Bridge a few minutes before it was blown up, Belgians retreating hesuperior German' forces, refugees leaving Belgium, and troops going into.action. >"The Red Duke" in'a Scandinavian dramatic feature, dealing with the discovery of a long-lost treasure in a' castle. "Who's Who at the Zoo" is a capital animal.study. ,'\The comic items ere well'up to the standard. ■'
THE KENNEDY CONCERT OOM- .-■.■•;■ ; ■ PANT. ■/; ' The Kennedy Concert Company, which has been touring New Zealand for the past six months is at present completing a comprehensive tour of the North Island. So successful has the ~ tour proved that the Kennedys intend 'to, initiate a new tour at Invercafgill towarde the end of next week; and early next year will be heard at the Concert Chamber; ' . . ; .
