THE STAR IN THE EAST

On Sunday afternoon the monthly -public meeting of. the Order of.the Star m the East was Held, and an instructive paper was given by Mrs, Pennfold, fentitled "World. Teaohers." ''These," the leoturier said, "are those who are called Masters of Compassion. Our own Scriptures give a good deal of in-: formation, but veiled, on the Hierarohial Order. Does it .not speak of the spirits and ministers of God, and in another place of the seven angels before the Throne? Then again, Masters give unto your servants- that which is profitable.' And in another place it says, - There came a man. sent from God whose name was John j the same came for witness, that he might bear witness of the light, that all might believe through him.' Tlie Masters are those who have completed the .human evolution, and as they long to_ help their brothers in the flesh, must still' continue putting on the physical garment, or they could not help those who are still toiling along tho rugged paths of human life. The Mastora are .our older brothers ; the grown-up memof God's fdnuly on earth. A second coming 'of tho Christ is taught in all "churches; may-it not be that from tho ashes of tho old faiths and out of the stress of the world to-day, a new, religion may rise, formed on co-operation, brotherhood, arid universal love?". ,
