'According to a return furnished by tfip Department, of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce the quantities of hemp, tow, and. stripper slips graded at tno ports of "Klie, Dominion during Ootobor were as folloiriHemp.—The total number. of bales graded was G033 as compared with 13/147 for tho corresponding month of last year, a decrease of 7414 bales. For tho twelve months ending October 31, - 1914, thb number of; bales graded was 113,710 as compared' with 162,973 for tho previous twelve months—a decrease of 49,263 bales. : Tow.—Dunug the month 1746 bales ■ were dealt..with as compared with 4368 for tho corresponding i month of last year, a decrease of 2622 bales. For the 1 twelve months ending October 31, 1914; the number of bales graded was 35,902' as compared with 56,521 for the previous* twelve months, a decrease ; of .20,619,.ba1e5. Stripper Slips.—During the month tho number of bales graded was 108 as compared with 540 for the corresponding month of last year—a decrease of 432 bales.
