DASHING CHARGE OF BENGAL LANCERS
IRRESISTIBLE ONSET (Reo. November 10 1.6 a.m.)' Calais, November 9. Details of .the capture of Kamscapelle, near the Belgian coast, show that when superior forces of German marines, with naval guns, "forced the Allies to evacuate the position, five thousand' Bengal Lancers were sent to the rescue. They dismounted and charged with lance in hand. Cheers burst from the ranks of the Allied infantry, who in turn dashed forward witdi their bayonets _ at the charge, which proved irresistible. The German marines fled, and sheltered in a village. The Allies forced open the doors with tho butts of their rifles, and bayoneted many who were firing from tho windows. Twelvo naval guns were abandoned by tho enemy, and a thousand prisoners were taken.
