The October number of "The Inter-national-Review of Missions (Oxford University Press), opens with an article on "The War and Missions," by J. H. Oldham, in which the writer asks and answers the question, "What is- the meaning of a catastrophe so overwhelming in relation to the progress of Christ's Kingdom among non-Christiah peoples?" Among other subjects dealt irith aro the "Causes of the Expansion or Retrogression of Religions iu India," "Is. Foreign Mission Work out of Balance?" "The Present Attitude of [educated Moslems, towards Jesus Christ and the Scriptures," and. "Industrial Training in Africa." These and other 1 Among other, subjects dealt with by writers who are in a position to speak with authority on such matters. The section dealing with the reviews of books is a noteworthy feature, and the extracts from nrticlas in recimt periodicals are decidedly useful and instructive. Taken as a wholo the October number is a very interesting volume.
