FIRST-AII> PASSES. The following are the results of the examination of the first-aid class, of which Dr. Pattie was lecturer, held by Dr. Whyte at the_ Oddfellows' Hall on October 30 Most'of the students were officials of the Post.arid Telegraph Department. The examiner remarked:— "This class, as a whole, has done very good work in the examination," and he specially commended Messrs. C. H. Bellamore (95 per cent.) and H. C. Milno and N. Abernethy (bracketed/94 per cent.). Mr. F. Rowband camc next with 90 marks.' The others who passed were W. H. Barnett, A. W. Griiirod, D C. Sclater, L. Harrison, W. Doull, C. Nicholls, C. Grieg, L. Bourke, S. Bailey, M. E. Rafter, C. A. Piper, J. Knowles, J. G.. Williams, F. C. Lemmori, J. Peart, A.. P. Deeble; and A. Shearer, many of whom were well up in the 80's. Mr. W. R. Dixon passed his re-examination' (for a label) with full marks. A first-aid examination at Hastings by Dr. J. A. Macdonell resulted as follows1:—G. Gray (98 per cent.), E. E. Martin (96), W, A. George (94), W. G. Player (93), W. I. Gray (92), R. J. Hodgson (91). Other passes more or less high were ; A. M. Boniface, E. J. Wright, A. M. George, E. A. George, L. Brown, H. Furniss, and A. R. Harper.
