About 1000 Poles and Russians resident in Liverpool have offered their services to the British Government, e'tl'or as members of the regular forces or as a separate unit. An "A" class torpedo is 20ft. long, 18in. in diameter. Its silvery-looking,, cigar-shaped body travels through Iho water at 40 knots. It has an effectivo range of over.7ooo yards.
