LONDON "WOOL SALES. .HIGH/COMMISSIONER'S GABLED / REPORT. The Department of Agriculture, Indus-tries,-and Commerce has received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner for New- Zealand, dated London Noveber 3, regarding the opening of the colonial wool sales:—The wool 6alee have commenced. There is great competition against some manufacturers for all'classes, except for inferior merinos, which have declined $d. per lb.- Prices for other merinos have advanced id. per lb.. All crossbreds have, on the average, advanced Id. per lb. on closing; rates at last sales.
Messrs. W. and 6. Turnbull, bompany, Ltd., have received the following cabled information from their London agents -under date of November - 3:—"Greasy. crossbreds advanced 10 per cent., slices 5-per cent." . Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London office, linder.date November 3:—"At the wool sales there was a fair selection. The Attendance of buyers was large, and competition animated for good shafty free wools.. Good combing merinos 'were from par to 5 per cent, dearer. • Other descriptions of merinos were unchanged,' except creasy. short faulty, which were 5 , per cent., lower, and .scoured ditto 10 per cent, lower, J these descriptions being neglected; Greasy crossbreds were 10 per cent, higher.
