The speakei had a most attentive hearing, being frequently applauded for his vigorous defence of the Government. No questions wero asked, and a vote of thanks and confidence was carried amidst applause on tlio motion of Mr. Wilton. MR. H. E. HOLLAND'S CAMPAIGN. The Social Democratic candidate for the Wellington North seat, Mr. H. E. Holland, continued his campaign last night, when he spoke in the Boulcott Street Hall. Mr. P. Fraser presided, and the hall was crowded. Mr. Holland touched on many of the subjects which ho had elaborated in his initial address, and said that as the majority of the votors in the northern electorate belonged to the working class, the Social Democratic Party must win if the working class voted true to their interests. lle said that the old cry, "I'ou should not change horses while in the stream" was b&mg raised in New Zealand to-day, in view of the war. The Massey Government, despite that cry, would meet-with disaster at the coming elections. (Applause.) Dealing witii a plank in the Social Democratic Party, full political rights for women, the candidate said that the woman was equally the wealth-producer with the man. Sho was the mother of the nation, and for that reason alone was entitled to an equal place with man in all the affairs of tlie nation'. Referring to the Hmvtly disaster, he said that the charge they levelled against the Massey Government was that, first to last, its hands were stained with the blood of the men who were slain at'Huntly. Mr. Payne and Mr.. Webb had been suspended in Parliament for saying that, but the Government could not suspend him. He levelled the charge, and wanted the lion. A. L. Herdman to answer it when be addressed the electors of Wellington North.,

Mr. Holland concluded by enumerating a list of charges against the Massey Government, as previously reported. A motion' of dissatisfaction with tlie Massey Administration and confidence in the candidature of Mr. Holland, was unanimously carried. MR. C. it. WILSON AT MAROKOPA. (By Telegraph—From a Correspondent) Morokopa, November 5. Mr. 0. K. Wilson addressed the electors in the Marokopa Hall on Thursday. The' meeting was well represented by the electors of that district. Mr. E. C. Stanley occupied the chair. Mr. AVilson spoke for over an hour and a half, explaining the works done by the Massey Government since they cam© into office.' At the close of his speech Mr. Wilson answered a number of questions. A hearty vote of thanks and confidence in Mr. Wilson was carried . with acclamation at the termination of the meeting. Mr. R. A. Wright addresses electors in the Methodist Ohurchroom, ' Kaiwarra -to-night. ' Mr. J. IS. Fitzgerald will speak at the Assembly Hall, Johnsonville tonight, and at Ohariu Valley Hall tomorrow night. Our Pahiatua correspondent states that Mr. J. D. Mathews, a settler of the Mangohao district, has-been selected as tlio Liberal candidate for' the l'ahiatun seat at. the coming general election. ■ .
