About 70 acres 61 land used in the present links is included in the purchase, and the other 30 acres is nearer tho city. It is intended to build a modem clubhouse clo«o to the City, boundary, and to; form tennis . courts close to tlie . building, which, will be within easy reach of tho centre of population by two tram routes. The new course will be something like 6000 yards in length, and will meet all 1&e requirements of a championship course. It will be open to all golfers from other parts, and, like the famous ■'■■'Home courses at St. Andrews and North Berwick, is expected to-provo a great.attraction to visitors to the City. ' The scheme was opened up in June, and authorised in the following month. The committee, consisting of Messrs; A. Erskine, W. E. A. Gill, H. S. Hislop, C.'.H." Lawrence, L. S. Thompson, Hi;D. .Vickery, and G.O.Suttoh (secretary), worke"d it out, in every detail.
