ATHLETIC SPORTS.

CRICKET MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. The fortnightly meeting of the Management Committee of tho Wellington Cricket Association was held at the Civil Service Club last night. Mr. C. G. Wilson presided, and thero were also present:—Messrs. M. Crombio, S. Brice, F. Midlane, H. Burton, J. Fanning, E. M. Beechey, and I. M. Martin. , , , In referonce to the alterations or the: boundaries.* longthy lcttor was received from Mr. D. M'Kenzie, of the Umpires' Association, objecting to the alterations. The writer considered that the new boundaries wero far too short and quite unfair to the fielding team. ' Mr. M'Kenzie considered the umpires should have been consulted about the matter under, the Laws of Cricket, Rule 44. During a short discussion on tho sub-, ject of tlio letter, tho chairman pointed out that under Rule: 44 the umpires only fixed boundaries when necessary. On the suggestion of Mr.'Wilson, it was decided to appoint a sub-committee, consisting of Messrs. Crombie, Burton, and M'Kenzie, to inquire into tho ter.

In response to a letter from the Hawko's Bay Association, Friday and Saturday, February 12 and 13, were fixed as tho dates for tho annual interprovincial match, the game to be played at Wellington. A letter from the Upper Hutt Club requested registration of Its coloursblue and white. The letter also stated that Mr. T. Quinn had been appointed delegate to the Management Committee.

■In respect to a letter from the Marlborough Association, it was decided to offer January 6 ond 7 for a match with a /Wellington B team. A letter was received..from Mr._B. Mabin accepting a position on the thirdclass championship' commlrfctee. A recommendation from a sub-com-mittee that two complete rounds be played in the senior championship was adonted. Four wickets were granted the W»dnesday Association on the Basin Reserve,, The treasurer drew attention to the fact that'several clubs had not yot forwarded th'eir subscriptions.
