The United Protestant Demonstration held in tho Town Hall on £upday was presided over by Mr. C. I>. niacin toeh. The gathering oponed with prayer . by. Ensign Jackson, of the Salvation Army, subsequent speakers being the Rev. J. Gibson Smith, 1 the Rev; linowles Smith/ and Mr;'J. Austin, P.G.M., who spoke on the qualifications of an Orangeman. Solos wero given by Mr.' Laslett Exton and Miss ICvn Smith, and a dueti by Messrs. Exton and R. S. Allright. Mr. Frank Johnstone contributed . a .'cello solo, arid Mr. H. Temple White presided at the organ. An apology was read' from Canon Eccles, of Woodville, who was unablo to attend on account of illness. ■ >' Commencing at 1.30 p.m. to-morrow Messrs. A. L..
