TWO KILLED AND NINE INJURED
London, November 1. Tlie cruiser Hermes was torpedoed on: Saturday morning, and sank in fortyfive minutes. Two men were killed and nine inrescued the others. (Reo. November 2, 10.30 p.m.) Amsterdam, November 1. No confirmation has reached Berlin of the sinking of the British cruiser Hermes, by a -German submarine (reported yesterday). . ' , - Tlie High Commissioner cables as follows:— " London, November 1. The Admiralty reports that the old cruiser, Hermes was toroedoed by a German -submarine in the Straits of Dover, and sunk. Nearly all the officers and crew .were saved.
HOSPITAJ,. SHIP ROHILLA. REMAINING SURVIVORS RESCUED. London, November 1. • A motor lifeboat rescued the remaining survivors of the steamer Rohilla, including the captain and the chief engineer. The total saved numbers 146. (Rec. November 3, 0.40 a.m.)
London, November 2. Seventy-four persons perished in the wreck of the Rohilla.
