MONET MARKET. ' • Th« Bank of Endand discount rate was on January 2, 1914, reduced from 6 to 4J per cent., on January 22.it was reduced to .4 per cent., a.nd on January 29 to, 3 per cent. On July 30 the rate was raiEcd to 4 per oent., on July, 31 it was raised to B per cent, and on August 1 it was further advanced to 10 per cent. • On August 6 the rate rae reduced to 6 per cent., on August 7. it was further reduced to 5 por cent. , , at which rate it .now stands. Tho Bank of France rate is 7 por cent., as ajjaiust 7 por cent, last week, and 4 per cent lost year. OPEN MAttKET BATES. Tho open market discount rate for three months' bills is 3 per cent., as compared ] with 3 3-16 to 3J per cent, last week, and 6 per cent, last year. .
