Benzoui. a former city councillor, whose funeral toofi place at-Karpri during the rnornr ing. Tlie-funeral was attended by; representatives of. the .civil and municipal services, and on account of the deceased haying been for- many.years con-' nect'ed with the British Army, the coffin was draped with , the "Union Jack and the Ensign of the : New Zealand Association of His Majesty's Veterans. ;-•

He hae had considerable experience of local affairs also, having served as a member of the Borough Council in Cambridge, and as a member of the Town Board of Napier South, as well as on school, various districts. The honorary position of general secretary to the .
