BOWLS
WINDFALL FOE, THE KHANDALLAH CLUB. The Khandallah Bowling Club has had a windfall-. Amongst the ■ club's liabilities: were £2-10 worth of debentures, and £200 advanced-by Mr. J. A. Plimmcr,»on both of which sums the club was paying interest at the 'rate of 6 per cent. Afcwdays ago Mr. Plim/ mer made the very.\generous proposition that he was prepared to forfeithis £200 if all ;thc debenture-holders would do likewise. 'A canvass was at-once made, and'it is to the credit of the members who held the scrip that every • holder returned 'his debentures to the club. This relieves tlio suburban club ' of n, considerable.incubus, viz., £26 per year interest. Tho only debt now owing by the club is the original £650 mortgage, whilst the bowling green and croquet lawn and the pavilions make a very handsome property indeed.
