THE GOEBEN AGAIN
RUSSIAN PORT BOMBARDED (Reo. October SO, 9.15 p.m.) Petrograd, October 80. A Turkish, warship, supposed to be the Goeben, bombarded Theodosia, in the Crimea, damaging the cathedral of the Greek Church and the harbour: breakwater. I Th'eodosia is the principal' port of the Crimea. It has an excellent modern harbour and has gained' much of the trade nf Sebastopol since that town was made a military port in 1894. The population of the town is about 40,000, and consists of Russians, Tatars, ArGermans, and several hundred QaTaite Jows. Theodosia was origin-" aily\ a. Genoese colony founded in 1266,> and flourished exceedingly in..the,,Mid-' die Ages, being the.depot of a iradarv route reaching to China.-,
