INCREASING UNEASINESS IN GERMANY
PUBLIC SUSPICIONS GROWING, v - London, October 29. The "Daily Chronicle" states that information by way of Holland shows that there is increasing public uneasiness in Germany, and that a widely prevalent suspicion exists, particularly uncommercial circles, that the truth regarding the military situation has been withheld. STATE OF' THE AEMT. , London, October 29. An extract, from a captured copy of Orders belonging to the German Fourteenth Reserve Corps, dated October 7, suggests defeneration in general duciulin'o. One corps, also, had a shortage of supplies. . P The Orders notified the troops that, they can no longer count on regular supplies, and must utilise the resources o the country as much as possible, aa the regulations as to the use of rations will be strictly observed. WHAT THE ARMIES ARE COSTING. (Rec. Ootober 30, 9.15 p.m.) ' ' London, October-30. . Professor Julius Wolf, of Berlin, estimates that the armies in the field are costing 71 millions sterling.daily. He declare.; that.the waste!*£¥*«£■ durin* the next three months must he reckoned at £350,000,000. It is sate to say that the conquered will have to pay an enormous bill.
