CARTERTON NOTES
W. Gregor, an employee of Mr. D. T. King; of Carterton, had the misfortune to have the tips of the three centre fingers severed ou Wednesday afternoon through them coming in contact with a circular saw, the result of tho piece of timber being jerked from his hand. The injuries were dressed by Dr. Johnston. Gregor will be unable to follow his employment for, a few weeks.. Sir Walter Buchanan, M.P., will open his election campaign at Carterton on Monday, evening next. He will speak at Martinborough on Tuesday evening, and Greytown on Wednesday. Two lambs, donated by Messrs. A. Clark, Featherston, and Colin Campbell, Clareville, were auctioned at tho Carterton show on Thursday, and were sold time after time, realising £50 for tho Belgian Fund. A collection taken up by collectors singing "It's a Long Way to Tipperary," netted £46 16s. 3d. for the same object.
