HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLES London, October 27. Official.:—Between tho Yser region and Lone fighting is proceeding fiercely. The Allies are making progress, and have not yielded any . point.' An artillery encounter at Berry-au-bac destroyed several batteries, and resulted to the advantage of the Allies. The enemy were driven across the frontier between tho forests of Berazavee (P) and Parroy. The Russians a,re pushing the offensive on tho San River, and also south of Przemysl. Special precautions are being taken for shipping in the Thames. Several portions of the Channel are closed. (Rec. October 29, 9.40 p.m.) ■ London, October 28. Official.—The_ German attacks in the region from Nieuport to Arras wore much'loss violent yesterday. Progress made to north and east of Ypres, and between Cambrai and Arras. The Germans attempted a violent night attack on the right'bank of tho Aisno in the region of Craonno, but were repulsed. Tho advance in the Woeuvre district continues. (Rec. October 29, 8.50 p.m.) .. London, October 28. The Belgian Government state that the situation on the Yser has improved. Tho fire of the enemas artillery has slackened, being subdued by tho guns of tho fleet. The Allies' operations at Ypres havo been very satisfactory '
