—. 1, DALLAS BEFORE THE COURT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Dunedin, October 28. In the Police Court to-day, Ernest Dallas was charged that Lβ did kill and slay George Prain. Chief Detective Herbert said that, as the inquest had been adjourned till Thursday, and as it was possible the case niigtlt be disposed of at the inquest, ho would a6k for a remand till to-morrow afternoon. Asked by the Magistrate if there was a probability of the charge being proceeded with, Chief Detective Herbort said he was not in a position to answer that, but the probable result seemed obvious. A remand was granted, and bail was granted in accused's own bond of £50. ;
