THE;NEW ZEALAND SHIPPING COMPANY'S LINER RUAHIN£. ' The New Zealand Shipping Company's H.M'.S. Ruahine left Wellington for London at 12.30 p.m. on Saturday, and at 7.15 a.m. yesterday , sent ]a wireless message that a leak had been discovered when 194 irtilos out, and that she was returning to port at'a speed of 12$ knots. The Ruahine is of 10,758 tons gross and 6823 net; deadweight capacity, 10,750 tons; length, 480 ft.; breadth, 60ft; indicated horse-power, 7800: speed on trial, 15.9 knots;. freeboard loaded, 15ft. 3in; five boilors, two refrigerating engines complete; cargo capacity, insulated 7278 tens, not insulated 5081 tons, carjgo boom lift, 30 tons; water ballast; 1528 tons; coal bunkers, 1828 tons. She is fitted with Clayton's patent fire extinguisher and-has a coffer dam dinding the, cargo from the engine space in case of fire.
