STAGE EMPLOYEES- REUNION
The Wellington Stage Employees' Union held a very successful reunion in the'Grand'Opera House on Wednesing, the president Mr. A. J. Dentico presiding. The chairman referred to the fact that it was three years since the union had held its first annual guthering and during ttinb period the agreement, which they had had with tlie employers had been made an award. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Bert Royle, representing J. C. Williamson, Ltd., for tho use of the theatre. A letter was Toad from Mr. Amos, secretary of the Mayor's Patrrotio Fund, thanking the members .of the Opera House staff for assistance given at the recent military concert. The following toasts were- honoured': —''The Managements," proposed ' by Mr. CabiH,- and responded to by Messrs. J. Farrell (Williamson's, Ltd.) and/J. Fuller, junr. (Brennan-Fullor 'Co.); "Our Guests," by Mr. T. Meadows, to which Mr. J. Dykes responded. "The Ladies," Mr. E. Dentice; and "The Press," by Mr. G. Burnett. Songs and recitations, etc., were given by Messrs. H. Patter, J. Dykes, G. Sunley, G, Burnett, H.-Thomas, J. Baxter, C. Moodie, A. Griffith, M. M'ilwraith, and members of the Bren-tian-Fuller Circuit. Various speakers made complimentary reference to the good work done by Mr. J. Chase, caretaker of the Grand Opera House, who has resigned from the position.' Mr. J. M'Kenna, the new caretaker, was, welcomed.
