ANOTHER WIRELESS STATION
GONE Sydney, October 22. Reports regardiug recent operations in the Pacific state that one of the Allies' warships visited Anguar Island, in the Carolines, west of Yap, and land* ed armed crews. The German officials were arrested, _and the wireless station destroyed. The Norwegian barque Remonstraufc has arrived from Jaluit, in the Marshall Islands. She had been previously flhartered by the Germans .to take - a! cargo of,Westport coal to Matupi, New Britain, afterwards proceeding' to the Marshall, Group to load copra. ' Being a neutral, she suffered no inconvenience. While she was at Jaluit a fleet of Gorman colliers arrived there, after coaling tho German fleet. CAPTURE OF THE KOMET. ' Sydney, October, 22.. From further news of tho capture of the German gunboat Komet, it appears that the . vessel cleared from\Rabaul upon tho approach of the Australian Forces. After tho seizure of the wireless station messages wore "constantly, tapped, indicating that the'Komet was dispatching news to the German squadron concerning the occupation.Eventually news of her hiding-place was gleaned, and armed forces, under Lieutenant Jackson, accompanied by, Colonel Paton and a dotachment of infantry, led by a native guide, proceeded to the north coast of .Now Guinea, where they discovered the Komet'warp« ed to the bank of the river and completely covered with greenery. The Germans were greatly surprised when the party sprang aboard and\Seized tho boat. >. They found a powerful wireless apparatus installed, capable of transmitting long-distance messages.
