THE ROSENEATH RATEPAYERS' ASSOCIATION

A well-attonded meeting of members of tlie Roseneath Ratepayers' Association was hold in tho Roseneath Schoolroom last evening, tho president (Mr. T. W. Ward) being in tho chair. Correspondence was read by the secretary (Mr. A. E. Shakes) dealing with Various matters affecting the district. A lettor was sent to the City Council asking that tramcar 55 bo removed from the Oriental Bay seotion as a loss of revenue was being caused by the refusal of many residents to travel by this car, owing to the lack of smoking accommodation and tho insufficiency of ventilation.

Intimation was received from the City Council that the'formation of tho road betweon Roseneath Terrace and Grafton Ityad will, be put in hand shortly. It was decided that the executive of tho association should confer with City members in regard to the conservation of Oriental Bay for tho residents of ■Wellington for all time. The chairman reported that as a result of the patriotic concert held in tho Kiosk on September 25 tho stun of £28 ()s. 4d. had that day been handed by tho secretary to the Mayor's Patriotic Fund.
