TRAFALGAR DAY
TO-NIGHT'S BIG DEMONSTRATION. The Navy League warmly invites citizens to hoist bunting to-day in the memory of Nelson, and in celebration of tho great naval victory by which the peace and freedom of tho ' seas were secured 109 years ago.- jThe demonstration at the Town Hall, arranged by tho league for to-night, promises to, bo.very successful and enthusiastic. Miss Mina Caldow, Mr. Harry Pliipps, and Mr. Charles Clarkson, three of Wellington's leading vocalists, aro con-
tributing to the musical portion of tho programmo, which is under tho direction of Mr. W. J. M'Laughlin. The children are to join in the choruses of "Rule Britannia" and 'The Empire of tho Sea." Two short patriotic speeches aro to be mado by tho Hon. James Allen and Sir Joseph "Ward, apropos to the occasion. _ The moving pictures of the battle-cruiser New Zealand and a .selected lot of_ lantern slides depicting recent happenings in tho North Sea should prove interesting. During tho evening tho prizes allotted by tho leaguo for naval history essay competitions are'to be presented. Prize-winners aro to assemble in the front seats ■ downstairs to tho-right. The leaguo is bearing the wholo cost of tho demonstration. All contributors to tho programmo aro giving their services gratuitously, so that every shilling spent on a ticket will bo a direct contribution' to the Belgian Relief and British AVar Fund. A full announcement appears elsewhere. The Boy Scouts aro to form a, guard' of honour, and they and some sixty of the Amokura. lads are to march to tho Hall.
