ISLAND BAY LIFE-SAVING CLUB
At a meeting of tho Island Bay Life Saving and Surf Club on Friday, there was a good attendanco of members. Mr. Gleave was in tho chair. A balance of £45 was brought • forward from last year. Tho club is greatly handicapped for the want of suitable club rooms, and as the City Council has definitely laid down a policy of recognising lifesaving societies, tho Island Bay Club is petitioning for a like treatment in that locality. ■ The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr. J. P. Luke; president, Mr. A. H. Hindmarsh; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. J. 0. Shorland, C. J. Lockwood, Martin Beck, A. E. Odlin, C. Haslem, H. G. Hill, P. J. O'Regan, R-. Koeno, M. Rcdican; captain, Mr. H. Beasley; vice-captain, Mr. C. Keeno; committee, Messrs. Hindmarsh, Waters, Rcdican, Keene, Hart, Hoar, Gleave; instructors, Messrs. M. Bird and Jackson; auditors, Messrs. G. W. 7. Beckett and E. King; treasurer, Mr. Mitchell; secretary, Mr. T. P. Gill.
