The Shaw, Savill liner Tokomaru Is reported to have arrived at Melbourne last week for Liverpool, via Adelaide. Tho discharge of the cargo of • guano fjrought to Lyttelton by the Norwegian barque Activ is now completed, and the vessel was expected to put to eea yesterday. She was to have proceeded to' New Caledonia, and thence to Surprise Island to load guano for Bluff, where she is expected to arrive about Christmas. Following aro the movements of some of tho Union Company's colliers:—The Kaitangata is expected to leave Melbourne about October 17 for the, Bluff. Timber is. being loaded at Greymouth by the Kanna 1 for Sydney. The Katoa was due at, Newcastle on Monday to load for Lyttelton. For the purpose of continuing Homo loading, tho New Zealand Shipping Company's mail steamer Ruahino left Napier for Auckland last evening. She will remain at the northern port till October 19, when' she will sail for Wellington to complete loading. Messrs. Levin and Co.'s Awahou left. Gisborne yesterday for Blackhead to pick up a load of wool for Wellington. She should make port on Saturday of this' week. Hoving completed dischaTge of her cargo of .hardwood from Bunbury, tho steamer Arrino will leave Wellington this morning for Townevillo to. load for Home. Bcforo tho Mokoia- leaves Wellington for northern ports to-day sho will land 367 tons of southern cargo at this port. Tho steamer Ennerdale, Captain Rabinson, owned by tho Maoriland Steamship Co. of New Zealand, has been in very rough weather, and considerable damage has been done- to her. During a rocont passage from Brisbane to Newcastle a moderate east-north-easterly gale was encountered, accompanied by a nasty beam sea. The Ennerdale shipped largo quantities ol water all the time, a considerable amount of damage being done about the dock, especially to the casing of steam pipos leading to the winches. Subsequently tho weather moderated, the wind veering round to the westward, and then to tho south. When tho Ennerdale was surveyed by Captain R .Dougl«6 Taylor, it was found that iron works, steam pipes, steam pipe casing, brackets, and ventilators had been damaged by the heavy seas shipped. There was a large atidienco at the Sailors' Friend Society last evening, when Miss Wilson provided a most delightful concert. Mr. James Moore, Missioner, occupied the chair. Tho following contributed vocal and elocutionary items to the programme :—Mrs. Ckridge," Misses Wilson, Hartley, Barr, Mueller, and Messrs. Church and Miller. Miss M'Kay played the accompaniments.
