CANTEENS ON THE TROOPSHIPS.
Sir,—Some misunderstanding appears to have arisen with regard to the arrangements between this firm and certain of the commanders of tho transports who have been represented in tho Press as asking the assistance of merchants to enable them to run the canteens. So far as the Athenic, Arawa, Waimana, Tahiti, and Maunganui are concerned, tho commanders at our request agreed to administer the canteens for our convenience.—Yours faithfully, LEVIN AND CO., Ltd. October 13. . ■'
