"BLUE MURDER!"

HOTEL BOARDER'S HALLUCINATION, Rather a curious case of alleged drunkenness came before Mr. W. G. Riddoll, S.M in the Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon. Accused, who was a first offender, had been staying at a city hotel, and at about 4 o'clock on the morning of October 7,h0 had come hurriedly out of his room, climbed down tho fire escape and run to the police station where ho arrived in a violent State of agitation. He said that tho licensee had been waiting all night outside his room with the object of knocking his brains out tho minute he- stepped from the room. As his brains wore intact and. thero was not even a spot of blood about his person, and last, but not least, as his appearance bor'o a strong suggestion that certain stimulants had been responsible for his' con-jured-up horror, tho police considerately detained him. Ho was placed in a little room where no murderous licensee could have the faintest hope of reaching him, and given the medical attention usual to people who are to be charged with helpless drunkenness. . Yesterday he appeared in court, and after a solicitor had explained the facts stated above, he was discharged on the understanding that the' expenses of his medical treatment should bo paid by him.
