Some of the people in the borough, said Councillor Cimino, were under tho impression that they, could purchase water from the council at the present time, and he. knew of one woman who had sent six whisky bottles to bo filled with water upon payment. They had been filled free of cost, of course, .and that was all the water she had in the house, and-thoro -was a- young hiiby there, Tho Mayor, after consultation with the borough engineer, stated that an arrangement, .which had heon made to deliver water on the occasion of a shortago Gome years ago, had not proved quite satisfactory. v ' Several councillors supported C<ranvN\ cillor Cimino in the view that something should be done to meet tho execptiona, position arising from the spell of dry weather. Eventually it was decided that the council should tako stops to supply water, at cost, to thoso residents in need of it, the cost to be fixed by the borough engineer, and tho money to bo paid in advance.
